With Sesame Street being so popular and so influential, but also easy for any child to understand, it recently crossed cultural barriers without even knowing it. With a focus on the letter “H” on the topic of hair, the show utilized a Sikh boy in one of its segments – Harjeet Singh. Not only does this positively impact young Sikh boys and girls watching the show, but it also introduces others to someone from the Sikh faith, and normalizes diversity at a young age.
